Abstract

The paper presents a review of the exhibition entitled ”L’arte differente: MOCAK al MAXXI” hosted in the National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome between the 7th December 2016 and the 22nd January 2017. This art event is a part of the big MAXXI project, titled “Expanding the Horizon”. The aim is to present the collections from diverse institutions in order to give an opportunity to Italian and international visitors to come into direct contact with different cultural and artistic realities. The art exhibition is dedicated to the MOCAK collection (Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow), which includes numerous works that show the history and actual status of contemporary art in Poland. As pointed out by the curator of the event and the Director of MOCAK, Anna Maria Potocka, it is not just a collection of works of art but rather of ideas. This review describes several exhibited works and their accurate selection that reflects the curatorial strategy of the Cracovian museum.
