Abstract

This abstract outlines the use of the transient electromagnetic (TEM) method for hydrogeophysical investigations. The TEM method has proven to be a strong tool for the delineation of water bearing sand and gravel layers. We discuss newly developed TEM systems (PATEM and HiTEM) along with developments in data interpretation. Finally the TEM part of the Aarhus Survey is presented. This survey covers an area of more than 100 km2 and about 6000 TEM soundings have been measured.
