Abstract

The charge transfer (CT) compounds of [2.2.2.2]paracyclophane with SbBr3 and BiBr3 of formula SbBr3:[2.2.2.2]paracyclophane (1) and Bi2Br6:[2.2.2.2]paracyclophane:toluene (2) have been synthesized and characterized by crystallographic and spectroscopic analyses. Both compounds are characterized by long interactions between the metal and the aromatic rings of [2.2.2.2]paracyclophane.
