Abstract

To leading order in the large-N limit the complete photon propagator, given by the iteration of the one-loop polarization tensor, is less singular than the bare propagator in the infrared limit. Unlike the case of scalar electrodynamics, here no further infrared softening of the gauge propagator occurs after iterating the gauge-invariant sum of the polarization tensors of order 1/N.
