Abstract

(Abstracted from Anesth Analg, 121:1283–1289, 2015) The expected duration of labor analgesia for vaginal deliveries is influenced by several factors, from patients being homozygous for the adrenoceptor Arg/Arg16, maternal obesity, and fetal weight to obstetrical practices at various hospitals. This study sought to ascertain whether there are large differences in mean durations of labor analgesia during vaginal delivery in the United States and how those differences might affect fee-for-service groups as well.
