Abstract

Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic repair of paraesophageal hernia,Methods:Sixty-two patients underwent laparoscopic repair of paraesophageal hernia,including 16 cases receiviing laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication and 46 receiving laparoscopic Toupet fundoplication.Results:Laparoscopic repair of paraesophageal hernia was completed successfully in all 62 patients.The average operation time was 110 min and the blood loss was 10 to 50 mL.Postoperative oral feedings were resumed after 24 to 48 hours post operation,and no postoperative complication occurred.The median postoperative hospital stay was 5.7 days.Conclusion:Laparoscopic repair of paraesophageal hernia was an effective and safe surgical procedure with minimal invasion.
