Abstract

A 43-year-old woman with severe stress urinary incontinence and low proximal urethral pressure underwent a successful laparoscopic-guided primary pubovaginal sling procedure. We performed single-puncture transperitoneal prevesical dissection to define safely the areas of periurethral fascial perforation and anterior abdominal wall fixation of the graft. We believe that a laparoscopic-assisted sling procedure holds promise for minimizing the risk of inadvertent neural, vascular, and urinary tract injuries associated with conventional approaches, by eliminating blind manipulations within the prevesical space.
