Abstract
Chang-rae Lee was born in Seoul, and his family immigrated to the United States when he was three years old. Lee studied English Literature at Yale University and Creative Writing at the University of Oregon. The manuscript he submitted for his master's degree was later published as Native Speaker (1995), his debut novel. He was Director of the MFA Program in Creative Writing at Hunter College, The City University of New York, and is currently Professor in the Humanities Council at Princeton University.
