Abstract
This research was aimed to assess the growth rate of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) in sandpit lake that fed by water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica). The research was done in sandpit lake which located in Kampung Titisan, Cikahuripan Village, Cianjur Regency during March to Juni 2016. Growth rate of grass carp was assessed base on the length and weight of fish during cultivation., around 21 days. The treatment was applied is different density, are 25, 50, and 75 fish/net with 3 replication. The cultivation has done in floating cage 1x1x1,2 m3 and fed by water spinach as much as 40% area of floating cage’s surface. The result showed that average of survival rate (SR) of grass carp is 59,7% and the highest SR seen on density of 50 fish, i.e. 74,67%. The highest daily length growth rate (GR) is 1,04%/day on density of 75 fish and the highest weight growth rate is 1,49%/day on density of 25 fish. But, the analysis of varian result showed that there is no significant difference between different densities for SR (p>0,05), and has significat different for GR (p<0,05). The weight growth rate of grass carp is classified as low which indicates that the water spinach is not sufficient. The water quality during cultivation is classified as good based on quality standads.
