Abstract
The important facts proving that the first people lived in the territory of Lachin district suggest that many years ago there were all favorable natural conditions for human communities to live in this region. The historical-architectural and cultural monuments here are mainly divided into several groups, including caves, tombstones, mounds, carvings, rock carvings, fortifications and architectural monuments. Based on the information provided by research scientists, it can be said that, most of the existing monuments in Lachin region are the relics of the ancient Caucasian state of Albania. Many of those monuments belong to the pre-Christian era of our era. Various architectural, cultural and religious monuments created in the middle ages also allow to get information about the ancient and rich history of the region.
