Abstract

Objectives: Cardiac metabolism undergoes substantial changes in response to pathological hypertrophy (PH), characterized by decreased free fatty acid (FFA) oxidation and a loss of metabolic flexibility. In this study we investigated the impact of AT lipolysis, regulated by Adipose Triglyceride Lipase (ATGL) on the development of PH in a pressure overload-induced cardiac hypertrophy model in mice.
