Abstract

In the Spanish society of the Restoration, the model of the “angel in the house” was redefined to adapt to social changes and some of the features of the female counter-models. Through this case study of the Barcelona illustrated and literary newspaper La Saeta (1890- 1910?), the aim is to approach the complex vision of the image of the female artist as a model of virtue and an example of the rupture of the femininity identity present in the social imaginary of the late 19th and early 20th centuries
