Abstract

How could the Vichy Government apply the special law aimed at getting the Jews out of the national economy ? More precisely, how did the Commissariat general aux questions juives (Central Office for Jewish Issues) manage in some departments from the unoccupied zone where no employees of the Commissariat where in charge? In the Lot-et-Garonne department (South-West of France), a few individuals volunteered to legally deprive other individuals of theirs goods. Who were they ? Did they achieve Vichy ambitions or did they just do it to earn easy money?
