Abstract

This paper dealt with the beginnings of gothic architecture in Germany through the Liebfrauenkirche in Trier. Form and meaning are discussed within the stylistics trends of the first half of Xlllth century architecture in France. Also a tracing designed in the N. O. tower is related to the plan of Cambrai cathedral by Villard de Honnecourt.
