La prière de Ben Sira dans les manuscrits hébreux et dans les versions anciennes

Abstract

In addition to her own prayers, many passages of Ben Sira address the topic of prayer and relate examples from the history of Israel. This chapter first presents some significant examples of the different textual forms found in the text of Si 36H, 1-17 (in relation to the Greek versions, Syriac and Latin). If the comparison between 36H 1-17 in Hebrew and older versions shows that it is possible to see the specifics of each textual tradition. The largest differences occur in the transition from Hebrew to Greek characterized by a change of genre. Then, the chapter considers some significant features of Si 51H 1-12. It indicates some hermeneutical guidelines adopted by Ben Sira and former translators emerging from the analysis of texts considered and justified in terms of a hypothetical reference context.
