Abstract

This article shows that the Heideggerian concept of existence and historicity is confronted by an aporia that can be resolved by Jonas’s trans-historical conception of life. Through this analysis it is also possible to show how the primary aim of the principle of responsibility is to maintain the possibility of history for humankind.
