Abstract

1 Chr 17 is a founding document of the Jewish Messianism in so far as it attributes the creation of the Davidic Dynasty to God. The comparison of the Masoretic Text with its equivalent in the Greek Bible highlights a shift in the issue that reveals important differences between the two narratives. We propose to understand these differences not as the result of scribal mistakes, as it usually is done, but rather as the testimony of an Hebraic Substrate for LXX that diverged from the premasoretic text and even preceded it. According us, MT represents a theological correction of the narrative. The version of LXX relativizes the importance of the Temple.
