Abstract
Abstract. The praetor peregrine is in Rome the magistrate who deals with the settlement of disputes between peregrines but also those between Roman citizens and peregrines. One could easily think that his role towards foreigners is limited to this but it is not. The present article therefore seeks to show that the prerogatives of the praetor peregrine in Roman society were not limited only to the settlement of conflicts, but could be extended to all that touched directly and by far the foreigners of the Urbs.
