Abstract

The aim of this work is to seek ways of thinking and theoretical constructs that allow higher levels of understanding and a clearer conceptualization of the phenomenon of leadership in organizations. This purpose is located as part of a collective effort that is intended to delimit a theoretical framework for the research project called "Education and Management in Mexico. The profile of a new generation of managers ", currently under development at the Department of Administration of the UAM-A. The principal concern is to locate the qualities and basic knowledge of an administrator who must work in organizations subject to intense and radical changes, aimed at a quick appropriation of a new paradigm of efficient work, essential to be inserted competitively in the new conditions imposed condition on the one hand, the global market and on the other, the brutal coercive modernization processes that our societies are experiencing at the end of the century.
