Abstract

This article reports the findings related to the beliefs of professors-researchers about collaborative work in research in the area of foreign language teaching at the Autonomous University of Baja California. It was identified and analyzed in a research of greater magnitude, targeted at studying the factors that favor and/or inhibit the development of research in foreign languages in three Mexican universities in order to favor its institutional development. The study is quantitative-descriptive based on a questionnaire, which identified that professors believe that collaborative research furthers the amount and quality of academic production, as well as professional development in an environment that in spite of considering this type of work it fails to offer suitable conditions for this activity to flourish.
