Abstract
The Civilization video game series offers a long tradition of simulating great human civilizations, from their rise to their fall. Civilization VI – Gathering Storm shows a realistic simulation of climate change over the centuries. Our analysis examines how climate changes play in the game and to what scientific knowledge they refer. Although the game offers a technocratic, capitalist and Eurocentric vision of change, it seems to us that the game could be a playful trigger of learning to discuss and study socially acute issues relating to climate and sustainable development.
