Abstract
Les Musulmanes, de Charles Geniaux est considere comme l’un des romans representatifs de la femme du Maghreb colonial. La femme musulmane represente toujours un mystere qui intrigue tous les europeens venus en orient ; les europeens ne pouvant pas acceder au monde feminin, ils donnent libre cours a leur imagination et a tous les fantasmes qui en decoulent. A travers ce roman, Charles Geniaux a voulu faire une esquisse de la famille et de la femme tunisienne et a eu butte a toutes les influences par la modernite conquerante. On essaiera a travers l’exemple de Nedjma de tracer un portrait de la femme tunisienne vue par un homme de lettres francais selon sa perception coloniale fictive tout en donnant a son discours ses dimensions historiques, culturelles et politiques, tant qu’il renforce le processus colonial et developpe ses procedes de superiorite, dans une perspective de construction de l’ailleurs et de l’autre oriental. *** The Tunisian in Charles Geniaux’s novel ABSTRACT The novel Muslim is considered as one of the representative novels of the of the colonial Maghreb. The Muslim woman is always a mystery that intrigues all Europeans who come to the East; As Europeans cannot access the female world, they give free rein to their imagination and all the fantasies that flow from it. Through this novel, Charles Geniaux wanted to make a glimpse of the Tunisian family and the Tunisian and he got rid of all the influences by the conquering modernity. Through the example of Nedjma, we will try to draw a portrait of Tunisian women as seen by a French man of letters according to his fictitious colonial perception, while giving his discourse its historical, cultural and political dimensions. He tries to strengthen the colonial process, and develops its methods of superiority, from a perspective of construction of the elsewhere and the other oriental.
