Abstract
This article analyses some distinctive features of the enterprise processive model, developed by Luciano Gallino on the basis of empirical research work in Olivetti in the 60s. Then examines the elements of discontinuity between this model and the taylorist model and differentiation with the lean manufacturing model. It emphasizes the anticipatory character of Gallino proposal in the debate about overcoming the Taylor-Ford model limits. Finally, it focuses on the reasons that led to oblivion of the proposal of the processive enterprise.
