Abstract
The study of funerary sculpture in Toledo shows that, although the idea and feeling of death are common to all christians, were killed according to social status that owns the deceased as show the place of burial, funeral liturgy and the posthumous fame managed to reach the most privileged.

El anhelo por alcanzar la vida eterna, así como el miedo a lo desconocido, hizo que los hombres y mujeres de todas las condiciones sociales se prepararan para el momento del óbito porque en el cristianismo, a diferencia de los que ocurría en el paganismo, la muerte se sacralizaba y se presentaba como una celebración litúrgica y un misterio de fe[4]
Ambos enterramientos se pueden contemplar en la capilla de San Ildefonso, en la catedral de Toledo
Summary
RESUMEN El estudio de la escultura funeraria gótica en Toledo permite comprobar que, aunque la idea y sentimiento de la muerte son comunes a todos los cristianos, se muere según la condición social a la que pertenece el difunto como demuestra el lugar de enterramiento, la liturgia de los funerales y la fama póstuma que sólo lograron alcanzar los más privilegiados.
