Abstract

The objective of this study was to know the teaching methodologies of aquatic activities, used by physical education teachers in the eastern area of the primary school in Montevideo Uruguay. A qualitative and exploratory methodology was used through: (a) non-participant observation and (b) in-depth interview. As main results, a lack of theoretical foundation was observed from the teachers to be able to explain the methodological forms used to teach water activities and or swimming.Keywords: Water activities; Swimming; Teaching; Method; Methodological construction.
