Abstract
Policy diffusion studies look for answering why diverse countries adopt the same policy, how they do that, and who participate in that process. This article makes a revision of the main components of the framework and its strengths and weaknesses in the theoretical and methodological arena. Beside this, some research about public and social policies diffusion in Latin America are commented. That exercise allows to highlight its main contributions and challenges for continuing developing this perspective in regional cases.
