Abstract

This article analyzes a series of works on comic strips made in Argentina in the sixties and seventies, reviewing various concepts and means of addressing the genre within the framework of the emerging studies on massive media. Its conclusion refutes the perspectives that have considered that communications studies of this period are solely based on functionalist models and manipulation theories.
