Abstract

In the latest 25 years segmentary three-dimensional correction of the spine in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis has become the gold standard. It was first proposed by Yves Cotrel and Jean Dubousset. This method allows spine deformity correction in the three-dimensional plan, achieving a good para-physiological shape of the spine. The advantage of this kind of correction is that it doesn’t need post-operatory braces or tutors, with an easy and faster recovery of the patient.
