Abstract

The current crisis has affected our country very deeply, thus, that has led to substantial changes, in areas beyond the strictly economic. On the social side it leads to transformation in shaping the structure of classes. and its configuration also follows these lines of change. We consider the emergence of new models of social values and consumption patterns in the field of crisis. Based on data provided by the survey Food habits of Spanish (2013) and the literature review of recent contributions to the sociology of food in Spain, we outline the presence of a new conceptualization, resilience postmaterialistic commensal, that to reorganizes and explains this whole set of changes, that affect the sphere of food in its social, productive aspect and many others. The new resilience postmaterialistic commensal combines in himself traits considered postmaterialistic commensal, however, and caused by the crisis, a succession of trends that change it from pure postmaterialist typeare configured. In Ingleheart´s terminology, we should consider that the emergence of materialistic values in society agrees the presence of the crisis, however, resilience terminology would mention the situation cyclical, since it is argued that the assumption of post-materialist values in food is not left deliberately, but because of adverse economic conditions and / or in terms of work.
