Abstract
L. Jeff Lefkoff, a hydrologist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS; Menlo Park, Calif.) and doctoral student at Stanford University (Stanford, Calif.), has been selected as the 1986–1987 AGU Congressional Science Fellow. A member of AGU's Hydrology Section, he will begin his 1‐year tenure on Capitol Hill as AGU's 10th Congressional Science Fellow in January.At USGS and Stanford, Lefkoff has conducted research on the hydrologic and economic consequences of various options in water resources policy, especially the use of open markets for water rights. His work for USGS has included development of a computer model, intended for public distribution, for general groundwater management. He has used this model to design aquifer restoration systems and to analyze their hydrologic and economic performance.
