Abstract

After the changes related to understanding of institutional care, the need for qualified care personnel becomes more important. Despite this, the Child Protection and Care Services Associate Degree program, which aims to train care personnel with the qualifications required by the child protection field, is not known enough and the importance of training qualified personnel in this field is not sufficiently emphasized. This research, which takes this situation as a problem for itself, is limited with the introduction of the Child Protection and Care Services Program, which was opened for the first time in the field within Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Health Services Vocational School This program differs from other universities in terms of approach and content richness. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to introduce the program in question, what kind of a model and approach it presents, and the importance of the 'sensitive and spiritual needs sensitive approach' among the identified approaches in terms of child protection services. Since a specific program was defined and analyzed in depth in the research, case study was taken as a basis of qualitative research methods. The program examined and the related literature were evaluated descriptively. In the research, it was determined that the program has five basic approaches. These are needs-oriented, holistic, interdisciplinary, experience-based and sensitive to religious and spiritual needs approaches. In this article, the approach sensitive to religious and spiritual needs from these approaches was evaluated in detail.
