Abstract

Double burden is one of gender discrimination which means certain gender executes more work burden than another gender. The impact of double burden is low privacy time where in the impact will be a bad consequence if experienced by high risk pregnancy women. ANC visit is required to prevent and detect earlier an existence of the risk and the complications. Therefore, it is important for high risk pregnancy women to spare her time for doing ANC visit regularly. The research aims to find out the correlation between double burden and antenatal visit of high risk pregnancy women. The research method is correlational analytics by cross sectional type. The research samples are 39 childbirth women who have high risk pregnancy history with double burden in working Area of Puskesmas Wagir, Kabupaten Malang,on July 2017.The research instrument is profile sheet contained family activities with Harvard Scale questionnaire, KIA book, and pregnant women card. The research result shows that most of the respondents (69,2 percent) are categorized as medium double burden (579-856 minutes/day) and almost half of respondents (48,7 percent) have low ANC visit. By using Spearman Rank correlation, the analyzed data shows that the rho value is -0,400 and the significance value is 0,012. The value show that there is significant correlation between double burden and ANC visit. In order to overcome the impact of double burden to ANC visit, the husband and the family is expected to cooperate well in managing time between working and pregnancy checkup visit.
