Abstract

The discussion about a link between innovation and economic performance characterizes management literature as well as economic theory, but is widely acknowledged across disciplines. Hence, the drivers of innovativeness are of particular interest. Cultural factors influence both, the internal and external factors, and therewith via different chains provide a basis for the innovativeness of an economy. This paper discusses the literature in the nexus of culture and innovation, and presents our newly-developed PSI-model that helps to classify different cultural dimensions in groups and provides a more structured background of the impact of different cultural dimensions on innovation.
