Abstract

In recent years, the causes of people’ travels has changed. In this context, alternative tourism came to the fore with the concept of rural tourism. The base of rural tourism are rural settlements and natural resources. Rural tourism has an important function in protecting the natural and cultural heritage. Turkey has many destinations about rural tourism. The main theme of the study is rural tourism and the effect of rural tourism opportunities’ on the basis of socio-economic structure in Fethiye. In this study, rural tourism, the economic impacts of rural tourism and rural development are researched. At the same time the economic impact of rural tourism, socio-cultural impact, social impact and environmental impact of the effects are explained. It’s determined that the potential of rural tourism in Fethiye. It’s stated that, the socio-economic structure, the potential for rural tourism and rural tourism of Fethiye
