Korean Language Education Policies for Korean Wave-based Learners-Focused on Policies for Promoting King Sejong Institute-

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 한류 기반 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 하는 한국어 교육 지원 정책의 실제를 세종학당 추진 정책을 중심으로 살펴보고 개선 방안을 제시하는 데에 있다. 본 연구에서는 우선 한류와 한국어 학습 사이의 관계를 논하면서 한류와 한국어 학습 사이에는 선순환 구조가 나타날 수도 있고 제한적인 순환 구조가 나타날 수도 있음을 논하였다. 그리고 한국 정부가 세종학당 추진 정책을 통하여 한류 기반 학습자에게 효율적인 한국어 교육을 실시하기 위한 과제로서 한류 확산 수준을 고려한 세종학당 설치, 한류 기반 학습자의 학습 지속성 확보 방안의 마련, 한류 콘텐츠를 활용한 교육 개선 방안 등을 제시하였다.This study aims to examine the realities of Korean language education support policies of KSIF(King Sejong Institute Foundation) for Korean Wave-based Korean language learners and suggests the tasks for improvement of them. At the beginning we discussed the relationships between the Korean Wave and Korean language learning. There are two models: positive relationship and remitted relationship. In conclusion, we suggested three policy alternatives as follows for developing Korean language education for Korean Wave-based Korean language learners: establishing King Sejong Institue based spreading Korean Wave, making learners maintain Korean language learning and developing Korean language education using Korean Wave contents.
