Abstract
We have studied the Heusler L2 1 alloys CeIn 1 - x M x Cu 2 , (M=Al and Sn) by measuring the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility, electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance and thermoelectric power. The experimental data suggest that the substitution of In by either Al or Sn produces an increase in the crystalline-electric field splitting. The Kondo temperature is found to decrease upon the Sn substitution, but increases with increasing Al content.
