Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of komi dramatic art in a period of social, political and cultural changes of the late 20th century. The author reveals different ways of komi dramatic art development at the turn of the centuries. During the reporting period the national drama develops in three directions: realistic, romantic and symbolic-metaphorical. The plays of symbolic-metaphorical direction stand out: in these plays metaphor, symbol and allegory prevail over actual dramaturgical components. In these dramas just the allegory makes possible to provide a more complete description of modern society processes, to reveal their inconsistency, ambiguity. Komi drama of the end of the1990s extends the ideological and thematic range. As before, topic of village is imprtant, but, unlike the previous generations of playwrights, the modern authors' view on the future of village is pessimistic. The Komi drama of late twentieth century refers to a historical theme. Many contemporary authors comprehend the history of Komi people, explore the national character development, reveal the origins of today's social and moral problems in the past. The authors of the1990s develop the theme of artistic creativity. In their writings they are not talking about the high purpose of poetry, but they reveal the emotions about the inability to realize their ideas. The author of the article shows the dynamics of change of the modern drama heroes' characters: unlike the dramas of previous periods, the heroes of the plays of the 1990s. are characterized by the following features: brokenness, indifference, a tendency to treason and idle life, cowardice. The listed aspects examination allows to demonstrate the art specificity of Komi drama in the period of a cardinally changing reality.
