Knowledge Dissemination Approaches for Extension

Abstract

The agricultural production management is a notably complex phenomenon, which requires consideration of heterogeneous aspects of production, environment and human life. One of the main factors of increasing productivity and improving quality of agriculture is the spread and introduction of modern science, technology, technologies, provide agricultural producers and rural population for the management of services, marketing, application of modern technology and development in the village, increasing knowledge and practical skills profitable entity. It is impossible to implement without usage of the modern tools (information technologies) of efficient and rational advice and decision-making. This paper present approaches for dissemination of agricultural knowledge and information, which based on modern tools of description, storage, processing and delivery information and knowledge resources. The heterogeneous information environment, which realize agrarian deployment environment and work both in mobile, and Web environment, can support these tasks. Components of implementation of the heterogeneous information environment are include: databases and knowledge base, elements of reference systems, expert systems, geoinformation systems and decision support systems. The heterogeneous information environment give possibility design and production of printed publications by templates and integration of appropriated knowledge and data; smart intelligent interactive applications on media storage. Presented approaches support farmer's activities and give possibilities of support functional integration of advice and decision-making processes; interdisciplinary integration of agrarian information and knowledge; access to the information and applications, outgoing from needs and competence of the user; reliable, scalable and safe architecture; integration of resources.
