Abstract
The knowledge-based expert system is a computer program designed to act as an expert to solve a problem in particular domain. Building a knowledge-based tool helps to bring the expert knowledge in the domain to the user and thus enhances the user's skills in problem solving. This paper discussed about a design knowledge-based tool for maintenance of instrumentation controlled by a Data Acquisition (DA) sub-system's computer. Using the tool makes a good and reliable instrumentation that is one of the requirements to get an optimal result of the DA Sub-system.
