Abstract

Calcination of Indian siderite in the presence of air has been carried out with a view to study the effect of particle size. The kinetics of decomposition followed the Avrami-Erofee'v model. Identical values of activation energy were obtained for all particle sizes under both isothermal and nonisothermal experiments. However the calcination history was found to influence the physical nature of the solid product.
