Abstract
Theoretical studies were carried out of the possibility of using kinetic results of the variation of molecular weight distribution of products of homophase radical polymerization, accompanied by kinetic chain transfer to the polymer with elimination of the hydrogen atom or addition of the macroradical at an unsaturated double bond of the polymer chain, in order to investigate products of the formation of branching centres. Formulae were derived to determine the rate of formation of branching centres using experimental results available. Criteria of the applicability of the approximation examined were defined.
