Abstract

Processes of mass transfer upon the absorption of atoms of alloying elements by nanostructured alloys during mechanical alloying have been studied. A closed set of equations has been obtained, which determines the kinetics of the formation of strongly supersaturated solid solutions upon severe plastic deformation of multiphase powder mixtures. It is shown that the rate of absorption substantially depends on the parameters of mechanical action, segregation phenomena at external and internal phase boundaries, and mechanisms of plastic deformation of nanomaterials.
