Abstract

1. As a result of an experimental study and analysis of curves for the change of temperature in an adsorbent granule when cyclohexane is adsorbed by NaX zeolite, we have been able to calculate effective external heat transfer coefficients and diffusion coefficients that are consistent with the coefficients of intercrystalline diffusion obtained from analysis of kinetic curves and self-diffusion coefficients measured by NMR. 2. For the system we have studied, the heat effects play an important role in the adsorption kinetics. In the region of relatively high pressures, consideration must be given not only to external heat transfer, but also the thermal conductivity of the adsorbent granule.
