Abstract
A kinetic study has been made of the hydrogen electrode reaction in liquid ammonia at low temperatures using steady and non-steady state techniques. The reaction has been shown to be less reversible than in aqueous solutions and this is attributed to inhibition by materials adsorbed on the platinum surface which arise from the decomposition of the solvent.
