Abstract

This paper investigates the pressure and temperature-dependent kinetics of CH2OO reacting with diethylamine (DEA) and ethylamine (EA) using the OH laser-induced fluorescence method. Pressure independence was observed within the range of 5.4–75 Torr. The rate coefficients for these reactions at 298 K are (2.49 ± 0.39) × 10−11 and (8.14 ± 1.25) × 10−12 cm3 molecule−1 s−1. The activation energies, determined from experiments conducted between 283 and 328 K, are (−2.01 ± 0.08) and (−1.35 ± 0.02) kcal mol−1. These reactions may contribute to the degradation of DEA and EA under specific environmental conditions.
