Abstract

A two-points kinetic procedure has led to an enzyme assay for the measurement of total and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) activity by flow injection analysis with electrochemical detection. A double injection valve is employed for the simultaneous injection of the substrate ( α-naphthyl phosphate) and enzyme. Successive injections are directed into different reaction coils for amperometric measurement of the α-naphthol produced at different times. Total and prostatic activity is determined in control sera and results were compared with those obtained spectrophotometrically.
