Abstract
Chinese foreign direct investment in the world has long and successful tradition. Over the past decade, China has become one of the largest exporters of foreign investment in the world, including European countries. China's investment in Europe brings a number of benefits in terms of technology, know-how, improving the reputation of existing brands, establishing a logistical market in the European market. Looking from the viewpoint of the host countries, the inflow of Chinese investments brought new economic opportunities, especially in those European countries that had poor economic growth, faced with high unemployment after the Euro crisis. This paper presents global trends of Chinese foreign direct investment, the motives that have prompted Chinese investors to invest in European countries, the needs of the EU for Chinese investment, and good example of attracting Chinese investments in Serbia.

Interesovanja kineskih investitora za ulaganja u Evropsku Uniju (EU) su značajno porasla tokom poslednje decenije. U Evropi, Kina je postala važan investitor u izgradnji luka, hotela, aerodroma i ovaj talas kineskih investicija dogodio se u kontekstu smanjenja investicija u svetu zahvaćenim finansijskom krizom koja se prelila iz Sjedinjenih Američkih država (SAD). Većina kineskih SDI prisutnih u Evropi dolazi u obliku akvizicija. Godini, preko 95% kineskih priliva SDI u EU su činile akvizicije [8]. Prliv kineskih investicija u zemljama domaćina doneo je nove ekonomske prilike i mogućnosti posebno u zemljama EU koje su pretrpele visoku nezaposlenost i slab ekonomski rast nakon krize evra. U prvom delu rada dat je pregled kineskih SDI u Evropi. Nakon ukazivanja na ključne motive koji pokreću kineske investitore da ulažu u inostranstvo, u trećem delu rada dat je prikaz evropske potražnje za kineskim investicijama. Poslednji deo rada daje osvrt na rastući talas kineskih SDI u Republici Srbiji
