is defined by Webster Dictionary as using or involving several forms of communication or expression. It has been common to understand that a multimedia exhibits of photographs, films, and music. In the 1993 first edition of McGraw-Hill's Multimedia: Making It Work, Tay Vaughan declared Multimedia is any combination of text, graphic art, sound, animation, and video that is delivered by computer. This was the case in early 1990's when the development started. One should keep in mind the level of Technology in those days. Nowadays the situation is totally different. Our smartphones and tablets offer us many services that overcome the old definitions. It is common that one allows the user to control what and when different data elements are delivered. This process is known as interactive multimedia. This is usually done in mobile multimedia but it is also usual with common computers. When you provide a structure of linked elements through which the user can navigate, that interactive multimedia becomes hypermedia. It also means that you have a broad band data connection available.
