Abstract

The concept of virtual mobility has increased exponentially through the support of modern ICT systems, especially in the area of higher education using mobile multimedia systems for new ways of collaborative learning. Connected smart handheld devices enable virtual mobility exchanges among learners independently of their physical location to facilitate teaching process anywhere and at anytime. Furthermore, these new mobile multimedia technologies supported education provide opportunities for interaction that allow extension to smart spaces beyond classical classroom. This paper, part of our research project presents a generic architecture of mobile collaborative learning platform in virtual mobility context. It describes a model of an innovative workspace allowing interactions among physical and virtual students based on active pedagogy. The functionality of this hybrid model will be exposed to achieve the usefulness and the efficiency of the system focusing on interactive multimedia system.
