Abstract

The development of rural tourism may be investigated in terms of several development stages (phases), in which it has developed as a result of growing demand and supply. This chapter also proposes various concepts for tourism regionalization in rural areas of Poland and proposes information concerning legal regulations having a significant effect on the development of rural tourism in Poland. In summarizing the findings from research by different authors on the regionalization of Polish agritourism and rural tourism development in Poland, it has to be emphasized that rural tourism facilities are distributed unevenly and are geographically dispersed. Financial measures are not included as part of the supporting measures because Wojciechowska considered them to be covered by other measures, namely consultancy, integration, and promotion. This chapter presents the key legal provisions and related amendments adopted in Poland between 1989 and 2019.
